Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens were voted the Most Peaceful Attraction in Alabama in a recent ranking from vacation rental site Casago.

The Birmingham Botanical Gardens scored 121, meaning that the word “peaceful” was used 121 times per every 1,000 reviews for the gardens.

The highest scoring attraction (with a score of 410) in the U.S. was The National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche, a Catholic Marian shrine located at the Nombre de Dios Mission in St. Augustine, Florida.

The Japanese section of the gardens could be one of the many reasons why people find the Birmingham’s attraction so peaceful according to Cassia Kesler, director of communications and marketing for Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

“People often say the Japanese section is the most serene spot in the garden,” she said.
