Biden’s approval rating: Numbers remain low, new poll shows

Less than a month before U.S. midterm elections, President Joe Biden’s approval rating remains stuck near the lowest numbers of his presidency, according to a new poll.

The Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll shows 40% of Americans approve of Biden’s handling of the presidency. That figure is unchanged from a week ago and comes just ahead of the Nov. 8 mid-term elections.

Fifty-four percent disapproved of the job Biden is doing, the poll showed.

Biden’s approval among Democrats is at 79% with 20% disapproval; 91% of Republicans disapprove of Biden’s performance compared to a dismal 8% that approve. Among whites, 60 disapprove of the job Biden is doing compared to 35% that approve. The numbers are much closer among non-whites – 48% approve of Biden’s performance, 43% disapprove.
