As warmer weather slowly approaches, many of us in Alabama are already planning our 2023 Spring Break trips along the Gulf Coast.

Popular vacation destinations for those of us in the Southeast include Panama City Beach, Destin, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and so on. And, of course, there are endless options when it comes to choosing a place to stay when visiting these beaches. We think Vrbo, in particular, is a great platform to find these stays.

There are many things we often look for when scoping out a good place stay, such as cleanliness, space, location, etc. However, reviews can be the best way to determine which stays are worth our time and money.

Based on reviews, here are our top picks for Vrbo stays all along the Gulf Coast for Spring (and Summer) 2023.

Helpful customer review: The Doc Holiday beach house is almost impossible to describe. It is exactly as pictured and to have your own private beach is unbelievable. Two things you will not get anywhere else in this area are a private beach and parking for more than one vehicle. Just these perks alone are worth it.

The Pros: Exactly as pictured and described, Beach, parking, location location location, more space than you need for a large group, dual climate air-conditioning, plenty of outdoor seating areas (covered and uncovered), friendliness of management

The Cons (if you can call it that): The house is very old and shows it outside, dated on the inside, they do not supply toilet paper and other amenities (bring your own towels and paper), no pets allowed….that’s pretty much it.

We came down from Louisiana with 3 couples and 3 kids for 4 days and 3 nights. There was plenty of room and everyone enjoyed the stay. We will be back and recommend this property for any group.

Helpful customer review: Great house right on the beach. There is a sand dune you have to walk over to get from the house to the shore that can be hard for people who cannot get around well. Overall, beach was not crowded and house was very nice.

Helpful customer review: This house was perfect for my family of five. The location is in a quiet neighborhood close to all the activities. The private beach access was fantastic. Our favorite parts of the house were the hot tub and heated pool plus the dock area that we used to fish. We spent hours in the backyard every evening.

We did have a small issue with the pool heater but they were very quick to repair and refunded us for the one day we did not have use of the pool heater. We will definitely look into renting the house again if we come back to Destin!

The unit itself is perfect for a small group and walking distance to everything downtown Pensacola. If you are planning to do laundry, bring quarters! The Fish House restaurant is right at the end of the dock and their food is delicious! We will definitely stay again.

Helpful customer review: We saw this little house and new it would be the perfect size for my husband and I and my mom! Walking in…the house was very clean and we felt extremely comfortable staying there. All the towels and linens were well stocked as well as other toiletries!

One thing I would say…bring some more dish detergent if you plan on cooking in a lot….and maybe another roll of paper towels! Other than that…it was stocked enough for our small party! Oh and the bed was so comfortable…honestly….probably the best we’ve slept on while renting. All in all….we will definitely be renting this place again!

Helpful customer review: Tracy is an excellent property manager. We had a problem with the tubs not draining & she sent someone right over. The house is well stocked with towels, beach gear, a foosball table, & a hot tub! There is plenty of room to congregate inside & out on the deck.

There are two grills for outdoor cooking….don’t want to cook? No problem. Walk seven houses to the east & you’re at Pier Park where there’s plenty to eat! This was our second time staying here. Our grandkids love the beach (which is not crowded in front of the house).

Helpful customer review: I absolutely love this townhouse! The balcony and rocking chairs on the top floor were my favorite. My son and I spent a lot of time in the rocking chairs, listening to the waves and enjoying the view.

The townhouse was very clean and had plenty of towels, etc. The manager was quick to respond when we had a question. I highly recommend and would stay here again!
