Best NFL Week 12 player prop bets for Buccaneers vs. Giants: Bet a Tommy Cutlets Over?
The Daniel Jones era is over in New York. The Giants (2-8 SU, 3-7 ATS) benched the 2019 first-round draft pick following a loss to the Panthers two weeks ago (and then released him). Instead, they’re calling on second-year Tommy Devito to take the snaps for Sunday’s home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
While New York’s season is lost, the Buccaneers (4-6 SU, 6-4 ATS) are still clinging to hopes of reaching the playoffs. They are 1.5 games behind Atlanta for the lead in the NFC South. Sunday’s game is one they need to win to keep pace with the Falcons.
Tampa Bay is a 5.5 or 6-point favorite, and the over/under is 41.5 points. Here are our best NFL Week 12 player prop best bets for Buccaneers vs. Giants.

Best NFL Week 12 player props for Buccaneers vs. Giants
Tommy DeVito Over 0.5 TD passes
Best odds: -190 at BetMGM Sportsbook
Nobody expects DeVito to play like Eli Manning when he steps onto the gridiron Sunday, but he doesn’t have to for this prop. Based on how poorly Jones has been playing, DeVito might be an improvement on him, which will boost the offense.
DeVito threw at least one touchdown pass in his first five starts last season. He threw two in one of those games and three in another. He was good enough for the Giants to rip off three consecutive wins, too. He will benefit from Sunday’s opponent. The Buccaneers have given up 14 touchdown passes in their last four games and got zero interceptions. The juice is not ideal but remember: Juice is for losers.
Baker Mayfield passing yards Under 233.5
Best odds: -115 at DraftKings Sportsbook
As is the case for many quarterbacks, the biggest kryptonite for Tampa Bay’s Baker Mayfield is pressure in the pocket. The Giants don’t do many things right, but they excel in rushing the QB. In this game, they could benefit from going against a Tampa Bay offensive line without its best man in Tristan Wirfs (knee).
Combine that with the fact that the Giants’ run defense is one of the worst in the league, and it won’t take long for the Buccaneers to figure out they should run the ball if they want to win. That means fewer passing attempts for Mayfield.
The only quarterback to surpass this total in the last five games against the Giants was Pittsburgh’s Russell Wilson with 278. Other performances in that span include Bryce Young with 126 passing yards, Jayden Daniels with 209, Jalen Hurts with 114 and Joe Burrow with 208.
Bucky Irving rushing yards Over 49.5
Best odds: -120 at bet365 Sportsbook
Tampa Bay’s running back usage is fairly balanced between rookie Bucky Irving and veteran Rachaad White, so the yardage props for both players are never sky-high. That’s great for his matchup because the Giants give up rushing yards in bunches.
New York has given up the seventh-most rushing yards to running backs this season. They rank fifth-worst in the NFL with 432 rushing yards allowed in the last four weeks. That’s even worse when you consider the Giants had a bye week.
Carolina’s Chuba Hubbard (153 rushing yards) and Pittsburgh’s Najee Harris (114 rushing yards) are among the RBs who’ve had recent standout performances vs. New York. Washington used a committee approach, the same on the Bucs will take, and amassed 114 rushing yards.
Irving has been the better runner for the Bucs this season, while White is more effective in the passing game. Both players could go over their rushing yardage props on Sunday, but I like Irving more because of his advantage in yards per carry (5.1 to 3.8)
