Johni Broome Under 32.5 points + rebounds
Johni Broome is a bonafide All-American and can win the John Wooden Award if a few dominoes fall in his favor. However, the big man has had his lines boosted due to his star power.
The senior has gone over this total in six of his 22 games played this season and just once against an SEC opponent.
The chance of racking up the rebounds goes down against an Alabama team that can match his size with Grant Nelson. Last season, Broome went over this line in his first showdown against the Crimson Tide but has not in his other three games against them during his career.
The big man will be counted on for Auburn to pull out the victory. Still, the numbers are too high right now. While Broome may be a factor, he shouldn’t hit these elevated totals.
Miles Kelly Over 1.5 3-pointers made
Alabama leads the country in pace of play, which means Auburn will get some extra possessions in this basketball game. Kelly already averages over five three-point attempts per game with an offense that currently ranks 163rd in the country for average possessions per game.
Kelly has gone over this mark in seven of his past 10 games. Bruce Pearl should look to get him hot early with some set-up plays to get him decent looks from the perimeter after a cold outing against Vanderbilt.
With the Crimson Tide looking to push the basketball, Auburn should find themselves with more opportunities on the offensive end. If they look to play into Alabama’s style, that could lead to plenty of quick possessions and jump shots.
This type of play benefits Kelly most, who has a natural jump shot and a smooth stroke when operating in rhythm. In a faster game, he could get out of his head a bit and just let the ball fly. It will likely turn into at least two threes from downtown.
Grant Nelson Over 18.5 points + rebounds
Nelson has caught fire recently after a slow start to conference play. The big man has gone over this line in three of his past four outings and even had a double-double in the team’s 90-69 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs.
In his two games against Auburn last season, Nelson went for 25 and 22 in this combo stat. He was efficient at getting rebounds in both outings and had a knack for getting to the free-throw line, where he made 17 points between the two matchups.
Last year, a criticism of Nelson’s skillset was that he lacked bulk. Now, he is up to 230 pounds, and he should be even better suited to go toe-to-toe with Broome and Dylan Cardwell on the interior to outperform this total and help you cash your pick.
