Best Buy to close handful of stores across the US
Best Buy is planning to close stores and reduce its workforce, the company announced during its Q4 earnings report.
The electronics retailer plans to close 10 to 15 stores, according to CFO Matt Bilunas.
“As our ongoing practice, we will continue to close existing traditional stores during our rigorous review of stores as their leases come up for renewal. In fiscal ‘24, we closed 24 stores,” Bilunas said, according to USA Today. “And in fiscal ‘25, we expect to close 10 to 15 stores.”
Best Buy is planning the store closures for the first half of fiscal year 2025. The retailer did not specify the locations of the future closures, but Cleveland.com reports some closures may have already begun, including in cities such as Denver; Kansas City, Missouri; and Apple Valley, Minnesota.
