Beloved seafood, steak, sushi restaurant opens another Alabama location
‘’I’ve always wanted a restaurant that doesn’t need a sign on the door. Maybe this will be the one,’’ Charles Morgan III told Birmingham News in 2006, back when he opened the first Chuck’s Fish, in Tuscaloosa.
Nearly 20 years later, Chuck’s Fish has opened its seventh location. It’s in the north Alabama city of Madison, at 461 John Henry Way Bldg. 50.
Other locations include Birmingham, Mobile, Montgomery, Athens, Ga. and Tallahassee, Fla. Morgan’s other restaurateur ventures include Destin, Fla.’s Harbor Docks.
Chuck’s Fish is known for its seafood, steaks and sushi. According to the restaurant’s website, “Chuck’s Fish sources seafood from its own wholesale market at Harbor Docks.”
Notable fans of the original Chuck’s Fish include ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit. Also, Sydney Thomas, the University of Alabama student who went viral after appearing as a ring girl at November’s Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul boxing match. When asked her go-to local haunts in our 2024 interview, Thomas said, “My favorite restaurant is Chuck’s Fish. I love sushi, and I think that’s the best sushi in Tuscaloosa.”
