Beach Bum Outdoors to open a second store in Baldwin County

Local investors paid $3.515 million for a 63,000-square-foot distribution warehouse at 981 Corporate Dr. S., in Mobile, according to Pratt Thomas of Merrill P. Thomas Co., who represented the buyers. Joey Betbeze of Betbeze Realty Co., worked for the seller. The building is fully leased and located at the intersection of Interstate 65 and U.S. 98 in Central Business Park, a light industrial distribution warehouse commercial subdivision.  The investors completed a 1031 tax deferred exchange with the purchase.

Beach Bum Outdoors has leased a 12,000-square-foot building at 1000 S. McKenzie St., in Foley, according to David Milstead of Bellator Commercial Real Estate, who handled the transaction. The fishing and tackle store will open in a former skating rink building. Beach Bum Outdoors also plans to open a store at the corner of Ala. 59 and West 1st Street in Gulf Shores.

Up N Smoke has leased 3,600 square feet of space at 7317 Theodore Dawes Road in Theodore, according to Andrew Dickman of Stirling, who represented the tenant.

The owner and operator of Rock the House Cafe at 2206 Government St., in Midtown Mobile, has purchased the restaurant building for $70,000, according to Josh W. Hall of CRE Mobile, who handled the transaction. The 2,013-square-foot building sits on almost an acre.

Watch for the Orange Beach Board of Education central office to be built at 4544 and 4550 Orange Beach Blvd., in Orange Beach, according to city planning records. The office will be 6,400 square feet.

Abaco Orange Beach developers are seeking site plan review approval to build a 259-unit condominium complex and a marina on Terry Cove at 4443 and 4459 Captain  Trent Lane in Orange Beach. The project would be built in four phases and include 9 buildings.

Presales are under way for Pelican Place, a 15-cottage project at 1050 W. Beach Blvd., in Gulf Shores, according to Stephen Harrison of The Harrison Team at Re/Max of Gulf Shores. The local developers are Eddie Spence and Miles ‘Bubba’ Reed, who also partnered on Sandpiper Cottages and Lost Dunes Cottages, both in Gulf Shores. The four-bedroom, four-bath units at Pelican Place will be 1,800 square feet with public beach access across the street. Prices start at $799,900.

The Country Club of Mobile is seeking Mobile Planning Commission approval to build pickleball courts at the private club property. The club is asking the commission to amend its Planned Unit Development to allow the project.
