Bayshore Christian will play its first season of varsity football this fall, but veteran coach Phil Lazenby’s expectations are the same as they’ve been his entire career.

“State champs. That is how we break practice down until you get to the point where you know you are not in the playoffs,” he said. “That’s what we do. I’ve done that ever since I became a football coach. If I don’t expect it, how can I expect these guys to expect it?”
