A suspect died a day after leading authorities on a chase across three Baldwin County cities before crashing her vehicle into a building.
Kimberly McLaren 38, blew a stop sign Monday in Summerdale and then ignored sheriffs deputies’ orders to pull over, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Andre Reid told WKRG.
McLaren continued into Foley, where the city’s police department helped sheriffs’ deputies deploy spike strips to slow her vehicle, Reid said.
The suspect then traveled to Robertsdale, where the Chevrolet HHR she was driving crashed into a building on Highway 59.
Reid said authorities found methamphetamine in the vehicle and alleged McLaren was throwing drugs out of the vehicle during the pursuit, which topped speeds of 100 m.p.h.
McLaren, whose charges were pending while she was in the hospital, died Tuesday night, the captain said.
