A 65-year-old Baldwin County man is in custody, charged with electronic solicitation of a child after complaints of child pornography being shared by Bay Minette Elementary School students.

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said Friday the investigation began with reports about child porn at the school being received by the Bay Minette Police Department. Police collected cell phones which were turned over to the Baldwin County Cyber Crimes Unit for analysis.

The forensic analysis uncovered what investigators say were illegal communications between 65-year-old Timothy Allen Arthur of the Little River community in Baldwin County and a 12-year-old female student at the school.

Arthur was taken into custody Thursday and admitted to the communications between himself and the girl. A search warrant was also issued for his cell phone and is currently being processed, according to the BCSO.

As of Friday morning, Arthur was being held under $10,000 bond at the Baldwin County Jail. Investigators say more charges may be forthcoming.
