Baldwin County husband killed by family member after shooting wife
A Foley man shot and killed his wife Saturday night before a family member shot him, according to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies received a call about a domestic disturbance at a home on Greenway Drive in Foley at around 10 p.m. Saturday night. The caller said a man, now identified as Scott Blackwell, was brandishing a gun and “exhibiting strange behavior.” Shortly after that call, Blackwell became violent towards his wife, Cindy Blackwell. He then fatally shot her, officials said.
In response to that shooting, a different family member shot Scott Blackwell, who also died from his injuries. The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said the second shooter was acting in self defense of Cindy Blackwell and others in the home, and is not currently being charged with any crime.
