The victim was one of two men found dead at an abandoned house in the city’s Inglenook community.

The other victim was identified as 20-year-old Michael Allen Carroll.

Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates on Monday released photos of a necklace and a logo on sweatpants worn by the victim.

He was wearing grey sweatpants, a green hooded sweatshirt, and brown shoes with white and black laces.

Yates said a fingerprint analysis was unsuccessful in yielding an identification.

East Precinct officers responded to a shots fired call around 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the 4400 block of 41st Place North, said Officer Truman Fitzgerald.

Officers went to the back area of an abandoned house where they found the unidentified man shot and lying unresponsive in the driveway. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police then found Carroll inside the house following a search of the area. He, too, was dead on the scene.

A stolen vehicle was recovered at the scene.

Two men were detained and booked into the Birmingham City Jail on a 48-hour investigative hold. Both were released without being charged.
