Madison County authorities say a body was found Monday on Oconee Road in Huntsville.

The sheriff’s office said investigators responded following a 911 call that a person had found an unidentified body.

The Sheriff’s crime scene and Major Crimes investigators are on the scene.

“Due to the suspicious nature of the circumstances, detectives are presently working to identify the deceased and ascertain the cause of death,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
