Auburn’s Robby Ashford, Tank Bigsby get into on sidelines, have to be separated
Emotions boiled on the Auburn sidelines during the first half of the Tigers’ game with Ole Miss.
After falling behind 21-0, Bryan Harsin’s team rallied for 14 straight points.
However, with just more than five minutes left in the second quarter and after Auburn’s first score of the day, cameras caught quarterback Robby Ashford and running back Tank Bigsby get into a heated argument that required others to step in.
ESPN reported that Ashford told Bigsby “don’t give up on me. We just put seven points on the board.”
Harsin sat Ashford for a possession in the first half.
“We took care of the football better,” Harsin said at halftime of Ashford returning after being pulled for a series. “He’s competing, using his legs. We were able to run the football. We have to come out and do it in the second half. Ultimately, take care of the football and keep operating the offense and keep doing what he’s been doing.”
Ashford finished the first half 4 of 6 for 76 yards and an interception. Meanwhile, Bigsby had 71 first-half rushing yards and a score.
