Auburn’s Bruce Pearl criticizes Biden’s State of the Union remarks on Israel

Auburn basketball head coach Bruce Pearl is frequently a very public supporter of Israel with posts on his X account, formerly known as Twitter. Pearl, who is Jewish, posted several responses Thursday and Friday in response to President Joe Biden’s comments during his Thursday night State of the Union address on the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

Below is a full video of Biden’s State of the Union remarks about Israel, Hamas and Palestinians.

Pearl believes Biden didn’t go far enough in support of Israel and Jews.

The conflict in Israel and Gaza has been ongoing since Hamas, a terrorist organization, attacked and killed more than 1,000 Israelis on Oct. 7.

It is believed around 100 or more Israeli hostages remain in Gaza.

However, Biden did acknowledge guests present for his speech who had family members currently being held hostage and said that he pledged “to all the families, I will not rest until I bring every one of your loved ones home.”

The statement received bipartisan applause within the chamber.

Several commenters corrected Pearl’s original tweet for not acknowledging Biden’s statement during the speech. Pearl then posted a follow-up tweet.
