Auburn’s Hugh Freeze wonders to ‘GameDay’ if Texas A&M knows it’s in SEC

Auburn coach Hugh Freeze has a number of questions about his team’s Saturday game with Texas A&M.

Freeze, who joined “College GameDay” on ESPN to talk about his team’s date in College Station, has a tall order when it comes to the upcoming schedule. Texas A&M, Georgia and LSU will make for a difficult road.

“First off, it’s a great opportunity,” he said about the next three weeks. “I love playing in these games. I want our kids to embrace that. As we start building the great Auburn program to what it’s been before, (we want to) embrace every one of them. Every play. Every moment.”

Freeze and the Tigers are looking for their first 4-0 start since the 2019 season. They visit Texas A&M in the SEC opener for both teams. Texas A&M looks to get off to a good start in conference play after winning just two SEC games last year.

The Aggies are about a touchdown favorite, but the Auburn coach was confused about one thing Saturday morning.

“I still don’t know if they understand if they are in the SEC,” he quipped. “I didn’t get anybody to talk ugly to me, flip us off or anything. They must have the nicest fans.”
