Auburnâs Aubie the Tiger wins 11th title at UCA National Championships
While the national championship tally of one Alabama resident might’ve drawn to a close this week after a stunning retirement, for another Yellowhammer State resident, the count continues.
Auburn’s beloved Aubie the Tiger mascot secured his 11th national title Saturday afternoon from the UCA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando.
Aubie placed first place in the Division 1-A mascot competition, which sees mascots from colleges across the country perform skits, which are judged at the event.
Aubie beat out the University of Tennessee’s Smokey with a score of 92.64 to Smokey’s score of 92.46. The University of Cincinnati’s Bearcat finished third in the event with a score of 90.86.
Saturday’s title was Aubie’s first championship win since he won the UCA title in 2021.
