Auburn wins the pledge of Akron transfer offensive lineman Ronan Chambers
Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers added a face to the offensive line room Monday afternoon as former Akron offensive lineman Ronan Chambers announced his commitment to the Tigers in a post to social media.
Chambers had previously been committed to Tulane, but flipped his decision after taking a visit to Auburn this past weekend.
A native of Olmsted Township, Ohio, Chambers is on the heels of his fourth season at Akron, where he appeared in 37 games and made 18 starts — including all 12 starts last fall, when he split time at the left and right tackle positions.
Chambers, who measures 6-foot-6 and 290 pounds, will arrive to The Plains with one season of eligibility remaining.
With the addition of Chambers, Auburn has added a pair of offensive lineman transfers this offseason as he joins former Mississippi State transfer offensive lineman Percy Lewis.
The Tigers’ offensive line room now consists of Chambers, Lewis, Jeremiah Wright, Izavion Miller, Jaden Muskrat, Tate Johnson, Dillon Wade, Connor Lew, EJ Harris, Seth Wilfred, Tyler Johnson, Dylan Senda, Bradyn Joiner, Clay Wedin, DeAndre Carter and Favour Edwin.
Meanwhile, Chambers’ commitment is the fifth the Tigers have earned during the spring transfer portal window.
