As a state agency pushes toward approving a proposed limestone quarry in Belle Mina today, Auburn University officials worry about the impact on the Tennessee Valley Research and Extension Center.

Auburn operates the TVREC extension center, which is located about a mile away from where the quarry would be. The quarry would be built on Mooresville Road not far from the heart of the southeastern Limestone County community.
