Auburn NFL roundup: Carl Lawson gets back in the sack

Defensive end Carl Lawson didn’t sign with the Dallas Cowboys until halfway through training camp. He began the season on the practice squad. But on Sunday, Lawson made his third start in a row for Dallas and rang up two sacks of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins in the Cowboys’ 27-21 loss.

Lawson had one-half sack for the 2024 season entering Sunday’s game, and his most recent full sack had come during the 2022 season.

But against Atlanta, Lawson recorded his fourth game with at least two sacks and his first since Sept. 27, 2020.
