Auburn, Hugh Freeze earn the commitment of No. 1 JUCO safety Laquan Robinson
The nation’s best safety from junior college ranks is headed to The Plains.
Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze and the Tigers received the news of Laquan Robinson’s commitment to Auburn on Friday afternoon, adding to the Tigers’ 2024 recruiting cycle. Robinson, who has spent the last two seasons at Holmes Community College in Goodman, Miss., committed to the Tigers over Ole Miss and Texas A&M.
After earning an offer from Freeze and the Tigers in April, Robinson made his way to The Plains on Oct. 21 as Auburn hosted Ole Miss.
Rated a 3-star by 247Sports, Robinson was the nation’s best JUCO safety left to come off the board.
At Holmes Community College this season, Robinson played in nine games, tallied 49 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, a fumble recovery and an interception.
Before making his way to the junior college ranks, Robinson was a 3-star high school prospect after his career at Greenville High School, less than 100 miles southwest of Auburn. Robinson was recruited by Auburn out of high school, too.
With Friday’s commitment, Robinson joins high school commits 4-star Kensley Faustin and 3-star Kaleb Harris as potential incoming safeties for the 2024 recruiting cycle.
