Auburn gets commitment from 3-star, class of 2024 Thompson High School safety

Kaleb Harris, a 3-star rated safety in the class of 2024, announced his commitment to Auburn football Monday night with a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Harris — who plays for Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama — is rated as one of the top 75 safety prospects in the country and is just outside the top 30 plays in Alabama, per 247Sports. He picked Auburn over a list of offers that included seven other SEC schools.

His commitment brings Auburn’s 2024 class back up to 17 commitments following recent de-commitments of 4-star athlete Jalewis Solomon who has played some defensive back in high school and four-star corner Jayden Lewis.

Auburn’s 2024 class was still ranked in the top 20 nationally after the two de-commitments and before Harris’ pledge.

The 2024 class for head coach Hugh Freeze is also ranked sixth best in the country by average rating of recruit, according to 247Sports.

Auburn also landed the commitment of 2025 4-star athlete Kendarius Reddick last week, whose commitment post listed him as a safety. He was listed as the best athlete recruit in America for 2025 according to 247Sports at the time of his commitment last week, but has since been dropped to second.
