Auburn football news: Alex McPherson ruled out against Vanderbilt
Auburn kicker Alex McPherson has been ruled out of Auburn’s matchup with Vanderbilt, according to the pregame availability report.
McPherson made his season debut last week after missing the first seven games of the season while recovering from a gastrointestinal illness.
He was listed as questionable earlier in the week, but was downgraded to doubtful Friday evening. With McPherson out, freshman Towns McGough will likely return to placekicking duties. McGough is 5-for-10 on field goals this season.
Keionte Scott, who was questionable throughout the week, is a game time decision. He played exclusively on special teams last week and Hugh Freeze said Scott “tweaked” his ankle on the Wednesday leading up to the Kentucky game.
