Auburn football lands OL transfer with connection to 2026 recruiting class

Auburn football added a player to its offensive line room Sunday, while also strengthening a recruiting connection in the process.

Former Austin Peay offensive lineman Malachi Harris announced his commitment to Auburn on Sunday, becoming the Tigers’ first incoming transfer of the spring portal window.

Harris is the older brother of in-state four-star prospect Hezekiah Harris, who committed to Auburn last July. He is in the class of 2026 and is a rising senior at Mae Jemison High School in Huntsville.

Hezekiah Harris is the No. 93 overall player in the country and the 11th-best edge rusher in the 2026 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also Auburn’s highest-rated commit in the 2026 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Malachi Harris spent one season at Austin Peay before entering the transfer portal. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
