Alabama head coach Nick Saban is retiring, ESPN’s Chris Low reported Wednesday afternoon.

For 17 years, Saban has been at the helm of that rival school up in Tuscaloosa and has consistently been a thorn in Auburn’s side as he and the Crimson Tide amassed a 12-5 record against the Tigers during his time as Alabama’s head coach.

And given all the troubles — heartache, even — that some of Alabama’s Saban-coached squads have given Auburn fans, the reactions from Tigers’ fans on Wednesday afternoon were all over the place.

Some obviously rejoiced in the news, while others offered remarks of respect towards the Alabama legend.

One Auburn fan took to the social platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and said it best: It’s bittersweet.
