Auburn center Avery Jones not seen at Tuesday practice window

Auburn starting center Avery Jones (undisclosed injury) was not seen during a practice window open to reporters Tuesday.

Jones was hurt in the first quarter of Auburn’s 28-21 loss to Ole Miss on Saturday. He has started each of Auburn’s first seven games, but head coach Hugh Freeze said Jones is “doubtful” to play this week. He did not state Jones’ exact injury.

If Jones is unable to play Saturday, freshman center Connor Lew will likely start in his place.

Running back Damari Alston (shoulder) practiced in full Tuesday. He had been seen in a non-contact jersey in the two previous week’s Tuesday open practice window. He has not played since Auburn’s Sept. 23 loss to Texas A&M.
