Auburn cancels first stop of the 2025 AMBUSH coaches caravan
The first stop on Auburn’s annual AMBUSH coaches caravan tour has been canceled, an Auburn spokesperson confirmed to AL.com.
The event initially scheduled for June 23 at Green Island Country Club in Columbus, Georgia, was set to feature appearances from Auburn offensive coordinator Derrick Nix, defensive coordinator DJ Durkin, men’s basketball associate head coach Steven Pearl and head women’s basketball coach Larry Vickers.
Information about the June 23 event was scrubbed from the AMBUSH web page, leaving only the information for the other two spots on the tour.
The next stop on the tour is at the Willow Point Country Club in Alexander City on July 2. That stop will feature appearances from head football coach Hugh Freeze, Steven Pearl, head baseball coach Butch Thompson and Vickers. It’s set to run from 5:30-9 p.m. that night, but registration is currently full, according to the web page.
The caravan’s final stop will be on July 14 in Atlanta during SEC Media Days. It’s scheduled for 6-9 p.m. ET at The Dogwood at Westside Paper. Freeze and athletic director John Cohen are the scheduled guests.
