Auburn basketball’s Bruce Pearl named SEC Coach of the Year
The postseason awards continue to roll in for Auburn basketball as Bruce Pearl was named the SEC Coach of the Year Monday afternoon.
This is the second time since 2022 Pearl won the award while coaching at Auburn. He’s won it twice previously with Tennessee in 2006 and 2008.

Pearl led the Tigers to a 27-4 overall record and a regular season conference title this season. Earlier this year, he became the all-time winningest coach in Auburn history with 227 career wins.
“It is great to be recognized by your peers,” Pearl said in his announcement video on Auburn social media pages. “I got so much respect for the league and the coaches in it. To earn their respect for the job this team did this year, both in the nonconference and conference play is something I am grateful for.”
The Tigers finished 15-3 in SEC play dropping just one conference game on the road. In his 11 seasons at Auburn, Pearl has led the Tigers to a No. 1 national ranking twice and to its fifth conference title (regular season or tournament) in the last eight seasons.
