Auburn basketball starter listed questionable ahead of Ole Miss game
After returning to the starting lineup against Georgia on Saturday, Auburn starter and second-leading scorer Chad Baker-Mazara is questionable for the Tigers’ game against Ole Miss, according to Tuesday’s Southeastern Conference availability report.
The reason for his status is unclear, but Bruce Pearl said during the week of Auburn’s win over Alabama that Baker-Mazara was “banged up,” but didn’t elaborate further.
Baker-Mazara’s status was unclear going into both games that week, but despite briefly falling out of the starting lineup, the senior wing has yet to miss a game this season.
He averaged 25.7 minutes per game during the three games he came off the bench, as his role seemed unaffected despite not starting. Baker-Mazara is averaging 12.4 points per game this season, trailing just All-American center Johni Broome for the team lead.
Ole Miss guard Matthew Murrell was also listed questionable on Tuesday’s availability report after playing just 12 minutes in Ole Miss’ loss to Vanderbilt Saturday.
Murrell is the Rebels’ second-leading scorer, averaging 11 points per game.
