Auburn baseball named a regional host at 2025 NCAA tournament

Auburn baseball will begin its NCAA tournament journey inside Plainsman Park, as it will be one of the 16 regional host sites, the NCAA announced Sunday.

The selection comes as no surprise, as Auburn finished the regular season 38-17 and 17-13 in Southeastern Conference play. The Tigers also rank third in the RPI with the top-ranked strength of schedule in the country.

This season was a nine-win turnaround in conference play from the relatively disastrous 2024 season, in which Auburn finished SEC play 8-22 and missed the postseason entirely.

Auburn is one of eight SEC teams to host a regional, joining Texas, Vanderbilt, Georgia, Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee. It’s also the third time the Tigers have hosted in the past four seasons.

The entire 2025 NCAA tournament bracket will be released Monday at 11 a.m. during the annual selection show televised on ESPN2. At that time, Auburn will learn its overall seed, regional opponents and the region it is paired with.
