One man died and another was injured Saturday night in Franklin County after an ATV overturned at a curve in the road, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The accident threw both men from the vehicle, a Polaris Explorer. Russellville resident Joarthur C. McDonald, 37, died in the accident, according to a news release.

Another Russellville man, 23-year-old Colby B. Hamm, sustained injuries in the accident and was transported to Russellville Hospital for treatment.

The crash happened at around 8:45 p.m. about 5 miles east of Russellville, on Franklin 78 near McCulough Road. Officers from ALEA continue to investigate the crash.
