Attendance is up, new exhibits are coming to U.S. Space & Rocket Center
Kimberly Robinson became the CEO and executive director of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in 2021 after a 31-year career with NASA.
Robinson served as NASA’s utilization manager for advanced exploration systems and was previously the payload mission manager for Artemis I, the first integrate flight test of NASA’s Orion spacecraft, the Space Launch System rocket and the Exploration Ground Systems at Kennedy Space Center before taking the leadership role at the Space & Rocket Center.
“I was a lot of things at NASA, an engineer, a project manager, a crew trainer,” Robinson told the Lede. “I taught at UAH and at Oakwood University. I’ve done a little bit of everything.”
Robinson completed her doctorate and master’s degrees in engineering management and systems engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and her Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University.
She recently participated in a question-and-answer session with the Lede.
