Mobile County deputies attempting to serve a warrant for an attempted murder suspect were met by silence from the occupants of a home on Houston Street, leading to a standoff of sorts Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, a tip was received about the location of Tawanne Lucas, a suspect wanted for attempted murder.

Deputies went to the home on Houston Street to serve the warrant and heard movement inside the house.

The deputies called out to the occupants several times, but no one would respond, leading to a standoff while SWAT and K9 units were dispatched to the scene.

By the time the additional units arrived, however, Lucas had fled the scene.
