AT&T, Verizon raising prices: Here’s when you’ll start paying more, how much will it be?
Some Verizon and AT&T customers are about to see their phone bills get more expensive.
Starting March 1, customers on certain older unlimited plans will be hit with a price increase of $4 per month, per line, reports Nexstar.
Also, AT&T plans to raise rates for its unlimited plans by 99 cents per line, per month. According to CNET, those charges would kick in starting on March 5. The carrier also told CNET the increase would come with some additional benefits to customers, including increased hotspot data. Under the new plans, “Unlimited Starter SL,” will include 5GB of hotspot data, up from 3GB, while “Unlimited Extra” will be renamed “Unlimited Extra EL” and include 30GB of hotspot data up from 15GB.
Verizon is raising prices on its 5G Get More, 5G Play More, 5G Do More and 5G Start unlimited plans, reports CNET. The wireless operator will be introducing a $4 per line, per month increase to users on those plans starting on March 1. Prices for Verizon’s newer “myPlan platform” will stay the same.
A Verizon spokesperson told CNET the company’s goal is to encourage customers to the goal is to get customers to move to newer plans.
