AT&T rolls out generous offer to older customers
AT&T has rolled out a new phone plan for seniors and, sorry folks, “senior” is defined as anyone 55 years and older.
The telecommunications giant launched 55+ this week. The program offers a single line for $40 per month or two lines for $35 each per month with unlimited voice calls, texting and data in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. It also includes 10GB of hotspot data per line per month.
“At AT&T, we recognize the importance of addressing the unique needs of our 55 and better audience—a demographic that values simplicity and seamless connectivity in today’s fast-paced digital world,” ,” said Jenifer Robertson, executive vice president & GM, AT&T Mass Markets. “Our customers remain at the center of everything we do. By listening to their needs and challenges, we recognized their growing desire for reliable and affordable connectivity—all delivered with ease.”
Robertson said the offer will also include a bundle of two wireless lines with AT&T Fiber and AT&T Internet Air for under $100.
The offers are available for new and existing wireless customers. It will require customers sign up for autopay and paperless billing and taxes and fees will be added. Another warning: AT&T said it can temporarily slow data speeds if the network is busy. Activation/upgrade fee per line (up to $50) and a deposit can also apply, pushing up that final price.
