An Athens man is facing multiple sex crime charges following an investigation.

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said Gregory Scott Carlisle, 51, has been charged with first degree sodomy, first degree sex abuse and first degree rape.

The charges stem from an investigation that began Tuesday. Investigators were called to the emergency room of Athens-Limestone Hospital on a reported rape.

Warrants were obtained a day later.

Carlisle is being held in the Limestone County Detention Center on a $150,000 bond. More charges are possible, investigators said.
