At legendary sports bar, watch the Auburn-Florida game in both schools’ states at same time
This may be one of the coolest occurrences in sports bar history – there is a place where you can watch Auburn and Florida in the Final Four matchup in both schools’ states at the same time. The Flora-Bama Lounge, the legendary sports and beach dive bar, will show the game on its TVs, said Jenifer Parnell, marketing director for the Flora-Bama.
“We will be featuring the game at Ole River Grill,” Parnell said. The Ole River Grill is part of the Flora-Bama complex located in a separate building.
The game in the Final Four of the NCAA men’s college basketball tournament tips off in San Antonio, Texas, at 5:09 p.m. Saturday, April 5. The winner will play for the championship against the winner of the Duke-Houston game, which follows at 7:49 p.m.
If you can’t make it to Texas, the Flora-Bama is within driving distance of Auburn University, located near Montgomery, Ala., and University of Florida, located in Gainesville.
The Flora-Bama gets its name from its location on the Florida-Alabama state line. OK, so technically, the bar isn’t centered exactly on the state line – if you really want to be in both states you might have to go into the parking lot – but it’s close enough to be fun. It’s not like you can watch Duke and Houston play in both those states at the same time.
This is Auburn’s second time to make it to the Final Four. The last time was in 2019.
