Arrest made in teen’s shooting death at apartment complex shooting in Mobile

A 20-year-old Mobile man was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Mobile Metro Jail on a charge of murder for his alleged role in a fatal shooting at a Mobile apartment complex in May.

Alonzo Collier-Newsome was identified as a suspect in the shooting, and was arrested and transported to jail, according to a press release from the Mobile Police Department.

He faces a charge of murder, attempted murder, and discharging his gun at an occupied/unoccupied building.

According to police, Collier-Newsome is accused of shooting and killing 19-year-old Tramell Williams of Mobile.

Police found Williams inside a parked vehicle around 10:55 p.m. on May 17, at 3125 Government Boulevard.

Another man, who remains unidentified, was also found suffering from a gunshot wound while seated in the same vehicle.

Both victims were taken to a hospital for their injuries. Williams was pronounced dead.

Mobile police determined that the shooting occurred earlier that night at an apartment complex at 601 Village Green Drive E.
