Arnold Schwarzenegger, the star of the 1993 movie “Last Action Hero,” became a take action hero on Tuesday.

The movie star and former California governor had grown tired of waiting for a large pothole in his neighborhood to be fixed, so he decided Tuesday to fix it himself.

“Today, after the whole neighborhood has been upset about this giant pothole that’s been screwing up cars and bicycles for weeks, I went out with my team and fixed it,” he wrote on Twitter. “I always say, let’s not complain, let’s do something about it. Here you go.”

KTLA Channel 5 reports motorists were stopping to thank Schwarzenegger as he worked to fill the pothole. KTLA reports that recent heavy rain in the region has caused an outbreak of potholes. Road crews have been struggling to keep up with repairs.

“You have to do it yourself,” Schwarzenegger said. “This is crazy. For three weeks I’ve been waiting for this hole to be closed.”

KABC Channel 7 reports Schwarzenegger’s efforts might not work. The Los Angeles Department of Public Works tells KABC that it wasn’t a pothole that Schwarzenegger filled in but a service trench that needs to be repaired by a gas utility company. An official also says the asphalt patch might fail because it’s a concrete street.
