‘Armed and dangerous’ suspect wanted in fatal shooting of Montgomery man
A search is underway for the suspect in last week’s shooting death of a man in Montgomery.
Isaiah Gipson, 30, is charged with capital murder in the March 2 slaying of 26-year-old Fredrikis Heard.
Central Alabama Crime Stoppers said the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Montgomery police are actively looking for Gipson. He should be considered to be armed and dangerous, authorities said.
Police and fire medics were dispatched at 12:45 a.m. that Thursday to the 4900 block of Hatton Avenue on a report of a person shot, said police Maj. Saba Coleman.
They found Heard wounded and took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. A motive has not been disclosed.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to Gipson’s capture.
