Argument between roommates in Ozark ends with one stabbed to death, one jailed
An argument between two south Alabama roommates left one dead and the other behind bars.
Ozark police identified the victim as Lewis Anthony Whitehead. He was 25.
Police officers and Dale County sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday reporting a crime scene at a home in the 100 block of Aventura Court.
When they arrived, they found Whitehead dead at the home.
Whitehead’s roommate, 24-year-old Zamarian Jamyus Jones, was developed as a suspect.
Police said Jones was located within hours walking on Andrews Avenue.
He was taken to police headquarters, where he confessed to the stabbing.
Jones told investigators he and Whitehead argued because the victim wanted him to leave the home.
Jones is charged with murder. He is being held in the Dale County Jail.
