Almost $1.5 billion in construction has been started in the Huntsville area since the beginning of the year.

And Nashville-based construction firm ARCO Murray leads the way with major projects in MidCity and downtown totaling $165.3 million, according to Southern Exposure.

ARCO Murray is the builder for the $108 million Wellory Living residential development in MidCity that is aiming for “net zero energy” with a reduced carbon footprint beginning with construction and continuing with concepts for reusable energy once completed.

Wellory Living and will be located at Old Monrovia Road and Stax Street and feature more than 13,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. RCP Companies of Huntsville, developers of MidCity, broke ground on the development in January.

The six-story development will include 342 apartment units as well as co-working spaces, a roof-level lounge and an outdoor terrace.
