Apple’s Tim Cook unveils new iPad Pro with M4, air tablets; Here’s how to preorder
Apple introduced on Tuesday new versions of its iPad Air and iPad Pro tablet computers.
In a video posted on its website, Apple announced the iPad Pro will come in two sizes, a 11-inch model and a 13-inch model. Apple is calling the product its thinnest ever, coming in at 5.1mm thick.
“This is the biggest day for iPad since its introduction,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said in the video.
The smaller iPad Pro starts at $999, and the larger 13-inch model starts at $1,299.
The iPad Air and iPad Pro got significant upgrades, and Apple also introduced a new Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard for the devices.
According to CNBC, the announcement marks the first new iPad models Apple has released since 2022.
The new models will use a new Apple chip, the M4, replacing the M3 chips. Apple described the M4 chip as an “outrageously powerful chip for AI.”
The new tablets and accessories are up for preorder now and will go on sale next week.
