Apple settlement: Some iPhone users eligible for up to $349
The deadline to sign up for your share of a $35 million class action settlement against Apple is near.
The settlement includes people who owned an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus between Sept. 16, 2016 and Jan. 3, 2023 and either complained to Apple about audio issues or paid for a repair or replacement of the device, according to the settlement website.
According to the suit filed in the Northern District of California, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices had audio issues related to the “audio IC chip,” something plaintiffs said violated consumer protection laws and breach of warranty. Apple denies the allegations.

People who did and have the payment information available are eligible to receive between $50 and $349. Settlement members who complained about the issue to Apple but did not pay out of pocket for repairs or replacement are eligible for up to $125.
The deadline to file a claim is June 3. A final court hearing on the settlement is planned for July 18.
