Any arctic blasts in the near future for Alabama

Any arctic blasts in the near future for Alabama

It’s the final month of fall, and it’s mostly been on the warm side for Alabama so far.

But will it continue?

The long-range trends suggest it will, according to NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center.

The CPC’s temperature outlook for all of November shows a 40 to 50 percent chance of above-average temperatures for much of the state. The exception is the southeast, which has a 33 to 40 percent chance of warmer temperatures. (See the map at the top of this post.)

The probabilities of warmer weather rise even more in the short-term time frame.

The CPC’s 6- to 10-day outlook shows a 60 to 70 percent probability of above-average temperatures for most of the state through Nov. 10:

The 6- to 10-day temperature outlook shows good probabilities that temperatures will be warmer than average in Alabama.

On the precipitation front it’s looking drier than average for much of the state.

The November precipitation outlook shows at 40 to 50 percent probability of below-average precipitation for all of Alabama over the next 30 days:

Drier-than-average conditions will be possible across Alabama this month.

However, the 6- to 10-day outlook suggests precipitation for Alabama over the next few days could be near average:
