Anthony Frasier runs St. Paul’s past Faith Academy
Anthony Frasier rushed for 205 yards and a touchdown as St. Paul’s built a 23-0 halftime lead on Faith Academy and rolled to a 40-7 win.
The Saints, coming off an idle week, improved to 4-1 overall.
Frasier, only a sophomore, carried the ball 20 times and scored on a 55-yard run.
“We really had a good two weeks of practice leading to this game,” St. Paul’s coach Ham Barnett said. “We changed some things on offense and defense that I don’t think Faith was ready for. I’ve been waiting for us to play a full four quarters, and tonight we did that.”
The Saints rushed for 305 yards as a team on 43 carries. Will Abrams, Anthony “Tank” Jones and Tate Johnston all had rushing scores. Johnston finished with 70 yards on five carries.
St. Paul’s forced three turnovers — interceptions by Cade Horton and Cooper Estes and a fumble recovery by Abrams — and the first-team defense held the Rams to 120 total yards.
St. Paul’s returns to 6A, Region 1 play next week at Spanish Fort. Faith Academy (3-3) hosts undefeated Vigor next week. The Rams have lost two straight games and three of the last four.
