For the third time in just two months snow has once again returned to Alabama.

On Wednesday, portions of central and north Alabama will be met with snowflakes and news of schools closing.

Due to the snow and freezing temperatures the National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisories for the affected areas.

The winter weather advisory for north Alabama will be in effect until 11 a.m. whole central Alabama’s advisory will last until 9 a.m.

The weather service are also warned motorists to be cautious when driving due to the winter precipitation making certain areas of the road slick.

The weather service said most areas of north Alabama will only receive less than an inch of snow Wednesday morning.

However, certain areas have already reported receiving over 1 inch of snow on Wednesday morning.
