Another round of storms possible in Alabama Sunday
More strong to severe storms are in the forecast for Sunday in Alabama.
The strongest storms could have damaging wind gusts, hail and heavy rain.
Storms are expected mainly during the afternoon and evening hours and should diminish after sunset.
In addition to the storms, temperatures will again be extremely warm across Alabama, and the entire state will be under a heat advisory today.
Additional severe storms are also in the forecast for the northern two-thirds of Alabama on both Monday and Tuesday, which is the Fourth of July. There will be Level 1 risks for severe weather on both days.
NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a Level 2 out of 5 risk for severe weather for north Alabama today, which means that scattered severe storms will be possible.
Nearly all of central Alabama has a Level 1 risk today, which means that isolated severe storms will be possible.
Rain and strong storms will also be possible in south Alabama, but the SPC didn’t include that area in a severe weather risk for today.
The potential for storms will continue into Monday and Tuesday as well.
