Another round of severe storms possible Saturday
More isolated severe storms are in the forecast for Alabama for Saturday, according to forecasters.
NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has included most of the state in a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe storms on Saturday.
A Level 1 risk means isolated severe storms will be possible.
The strongest storms on Saturday could have winds strong enough to bring down tree limbs and power lines, as well as hail and heavy rain.
Storms are expected to be the most numerous during the afternoon and early evening, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters will be watching for a cold front to approach Alabama from the northwest. They expect numerous showers and storms to erupt ahead of the front during the peak heat of the day.
Rain and storms could linger into Sunday for all but north Alabama, but no severe weather is expected on Sunday, according to the SPC.
